About the role
HLM Consultants is hiring a Senior Accounting Manager to own the accounting and reporting for a portfolio of clients. You will lead a team of accountants, make sure every close is on time and accurate, and be the trusted finance contact for client management. This is a fully remote role.
What you will do:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end close for multiple clients
- Prepare and review financial statements in line with US GAAP
- Review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and schedules prepared by the team
- Supervise, train and review the work of bookkeepers and accountants
- Set up and improve close checklists, controls and accounting processes
- Support audits and tax filings by preparing schedules and answering auditor queries
- Present results and explain variances to client management in clear, simple terms
- Manage deadlines and priorities across several clients at once

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including at least some time in a supervisory or senior role
- Hands-on US GAAP experience (month-end close and financial statement preparation)
- Minimum education: B.Com or BBA; CA, ACCA or CPA (qualified or part-qualified) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Proven managerial skills: leading, reviewing and developing a team
- Advanced Microsoft Excel: pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, reconciliations and reporting templates
- Experience with cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite
- Excellent written and spoken English for client communication and reporting
- Strong organisation, ownership and the ability to manage several deadlines at once
