What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

This policy explains how HLM Consultants (“HLM”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information on hlmconsultants.com — in particular in the Join Us Resume Builder and the HLM Talent Pool. We have written it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at zain@hlmconsultants.com.

1. What we collect

When you create an account

Your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our login provider and are never visible to us.
Whether you agreed to our Terms and this Policy, whether you chose to receive job opportunities and HLM updates, and when you made those choices.

When you build your resume or profile

Identity and contact details: name, phone number, city and country, profile photo.
Professional details: headline, primary role or domain, skills and tools with proficiency levels, employment history, education history, bio or summary, hourly rate and engagement type.
Links you add, such as LinkedIn or a portfolio website.
Files you upload, such as your CV or supporting documents.

When you use the website generally

Messages you send through our contact form (name, email, and what you write).
Basic usage information collected by Google Analytics, such as pages visited, approximate location and device type.
Cookies that keep you signed in. Without these the Resume Builder cannot work.

2. Why we use it

To build your resume. Your details are used to create, preview and download your resume.
To match you with work. If you apply for a job or ask to join the Talent Pool, our team reviews your details to consider you for suitable roles and client engagements.
To run the HLM Talent Pool. If you ask us to publish your profile and we approve it, your profile can be viewed by the HLM team when shortlisting consultants.
To send you job opportunities and HLM updates — only if you ticked the box to receive them. You can change your mind at any time.
To keep the service working and secure, and to answer messages you send us.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. CV auto-fill

If you upload a CV, we may send its text to an AI service provider (Anthropic) to suggest values for your form fields. The suggestions are shown to you to review before anything is saved. This is optional — you can always fill in the form yourself.

4. Where your information is stored

We use trusted service providers to run the website:

Supabase — stores your account, resume and profile data, and the files you upload. Uploaded files are kept private and can only be opened through time-limited links.
Hostinger — hosts the website.
Web3Forms — delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.
Google Analytics — website usage statistics.
Anthropic — CV auto-fill, as described above.

These providers may store or process information in countries other than your own.

5. Who can see your information

You can see and edit your own resume and profile at any time.
The HLM team can see your details when you apply for a job, request to publish your profile, or when we need to support your account.
Other users cannot see your data. Each account can only access its own records.
We only share your details with a client of ours when it relates to a role or engagement you are being considered for.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and resume data for as long as your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your profile, resume data and uploaded files, except where we need to keep a limited record (for example, a note that you withdrew consent so we don’t email you again).

7. Your choices and rights

Download your resume or profile from the Resume Builder at any time.
Edit any part of your resume or profile yourself.
Stop marketing emails by emailing us, or by using the unsubscribe link where an email includes one.
Delete your account by emailing zain@hlmconsultants.com from the email address you signed up with.
Ask us what we hold about you, or to correct something you can’t change yourself.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including private file storage and per-account access rules. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password and don’t share it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
